joanne - October 26th, 2010 2:50 AM

It is an important diagnostic tool that represent one advanced test and which is used to evaluate female fertility.

day 3 inhibin test measures chances of a couple getting pregnant. this is used to find out if a woman has good ovarian reserves.

Fhina - October 27th, 2010 10:17 AM

I think this is very expensive kind of test, right?

josephc57 - October 28th, 2010 3:44 AM

We bought a kit for this and if memory serves me right it costs around $40.

ImABabyMama - October 29th, 2010 3:38 AM

if you have low inhibin B test results it could mean that you have

* poor ovulation
* low pregnancy rates
* high risk miscarriage
* low IVF success

this is why it is important to have this sort of test so that you can evaluate which treatments are available to you.

this sounds like the end of baby making to me...

to EarthyGal

I dont think this means the "end of baby making". I think it is just more challenging if you have low ovarian reserves. Unless of course you are very advanced in age.

How much this costs, 40 bucks?! That is quite some test. Are these test kits even accurate? Why not go to an expert instead and have yourself tested out. That would be a more logical choice for me. I don't trust over-the-counter kits very much, aside from the preggy kit.
