Tubal ligation is a permanent sterilization in women. Some women get theirs reversed. Are these women able to get pregnant successfully?

connie_m - July 19th, 2010 3:02 PM

Not all tubal ligations are successful to my knowledge.

It is not ours to make some destructive criticism, but in submitting the tubal ligation operation the patients are aware that it is a risk to have a fertilization . Why submitting yourself an operation, that as a matter of fact you still need an additional child. The decision of this matter is not ours only God can make a man.

I was thinking before that ligation is for only a family planning method . But now, I know that it can also help to have fertilization. The advanced technology changes the normal way of conceiving. But not all have resulted success, there are also failures of it which have been recorded.

As far as I know, the male equivalent of vasectomy is easier to reverse than a tubal ligation. Not sure on this though.

Mikoto - August 26th, 2010 3:26 AM

Not all reversals are successful. In fact it is quite rare. Tubal ligation is permanent sterilization. Also, it is more expensive to get one reversed than the original operation.

So it is something to think about.

No. Tubal ligation is permanent. I think those rare occurence where in a woman was able to get pregnant successfuly was not natural. Maybe they were able to implant an egg or something.

Tubal ligation, as far as I know is to cut off and tied to prevent the passage of eggs from the ovary to the uterus, an operation of which the woman may no longer a hope to have fertilization.

FannWell - August 30th, 2010 12:20 PM

Tubal ligation is an operation of which a fallopian tube is cut and tied to prevent the passage of eggs from the ovary to the uterus. It is one of a kind of mechanical method of birth control. The woman who undergo this kind of operation could no longer able to fertilize.
