I am exposed to secondhand smoking with my husband and I am advised by my gyne to call his attention if we want to have a baby. How bad is 2ndhand smoke in my situation?

smoking is as we all know is dangerous to our health and most especially to people who are trying to have a baby. secondhand smoke as well have the same effect as smoking itself. it is really bad for both you and you should tell your husband to stop smoking in order for you to conceive.

yes, second hand smoke is very much dangerous to all pregnant women as well as to the baby inside her..it can cause birth defects.

Second hand smoke is very harmful to unborn baby. Unborn babies who are exposed to cigarette smoke may also be born with lower birth weight than the normal baby weight.

Thanks ladies. I have another problem then because it is not advisable to stop abruptly to avoid withdrawal symptoms. This means we will take a longer time before we could really ttc.

As bad as it makes you produce a baby with birth defects. If your husband really cares for you and if he want you to have a baby, then he will stop his smoking for he knows how bad it is to your health as well as on your baby's health too.

no news is good news when it comes to smoking be it for you or the baby no matter what kind of smoke it is. i would advice that you talk to your husband. and fyi, smoking decreases his sperm count so i think you should let him know since you're trying for a baby.

I really appreciate your time and I am now looking for a right time to have a sincere talk with him. Thanks again.

Yes, just do it in a mellow voice so that your husband can understand and would heartily work for it.It depends how you explain it to him.
