Ovulation Chart

Keeping an ovulation chart is an excellent way to track changes in your menstrual cycele, as well as to discover when you're most fertile, thereby increasing your chances of getting pregnant.

Our example ovulation chart provides you an overiew of the stages of your menstrual cycle that you should be keeping track of: changes in cervical mucus, changes in hormonal levels, changes in your basal body temperature and the days on which you menstruate.

The vertical column on the left-hand side (Cycle Day) lists each day of your menstrual cycle. Day one of your menstrual cycle is the first day of your period. The last day of your cycle is the day before your next period starts.

The horizontal columns on the top of the chart (36.0, etc.) are used to track your basal body temperature. Your basal body temperature increases slightly after ovulation.

You will also find columns to track changes in your cervical fluid. You are most fertile when your cervical mucus is stretchy and has the consistency of egg whites (see bolded squares).

The column entiled Comments can be used to track symptoms, your most fertile days, as well as hormonal changes. An increased level in luitenizing hormone (LH) results in the release of an egg. The luteal phase is the period of your cycle in which increased levels of progesterone prepare the body for a potential pregnancy.

If regular, ovulation will take place at around the same time next month.

Below you can print out blank copies of our ovulation chart in order to keep track of your menstrual cycle.
