LH (Luteinising Hormone)

Oestrogen triggers a surge of LH around mid-cycle, which in turn causes the strongest egg to burst through the ovary wall.

LH is the substance detected by ovulation predictors.

High levels can be an indicator of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
